Problems with HP printers

Hi everybody...i hope you all can help me deal with these problems....

I just bought Sun Ultra 5 workstation and using Solaris 2.6, and my
problem is
why I can't print any graphics or pictures with my Laserjet ????
It seems that it can only print ASCII text files....is this the default
output for HP
laserjet printers when using UNIX ???

Really hope anybody can hel me....
