mount_ext2fs problems

Is there any fix for the new revision number in ext2fs.  when I try to 
mount it on a 2.6 system (the partition was made using Slackware 7.0)
I get told that the revision number 1 is not what is expexted and
mount_ext2fs is looking for revision 0.  any ideas.  thanks.
