Hi,
I have a desktop Pentium system using a Swapbox Classic X2 ISA to PCMCIA
adapter. Intel PCMCIA compatible controller using the Vadem 365 chipset.
OpenBSD 2.9 stock kernel / install (virgin).
The system boots and recognizes the wi0 interface, but the lights do not
blink in normal fashion. Only the right light goes on, and it does not
blink.
---- part of my dmesg -----
pcic0 at isa0 port 0x3e0/2 iomem 0xd0000/65536
pcic0 controller 0: <Vadem VG468> has sockets A and B

pcmcia1 at pcic0 controller 0 socket 1

pcic0: irq 5, polling enabled

I have tried booting OpenBSD with the card in both PCMCIA slots, did not
help.
I eventually found that if I:
1. boot OpenBSD 2.9 normal fashion. Right light is solid on Orinoco
card.
2. Remove the card, wait for OpenBSD to detach.
3. Re-insert card. Now card is cold.
4. Issue the command "ifconfig wi0 up"
It now works! However, I then have to manually assign the IP Address and
bring up IPNAT.
On the insert of the card, here is the console message:
----- 2nd insert event ----------
wi0 detached
wi0 at pcmcia1 function 0 "Lucent Technologies, WaveLAN/IEEE, Version
01.01": addr
ess 00:02:2d:2f:67:3e irq 9
--- 2nd insert event end ---------
Any ideas? I am a newbie to OpenBSD. Thank you.
