Any audio (as in /dev/audio) experts out there? I'm trying to figure
out why output on my amd64 (a dual processor machine, if it makes any
difference) comes out wrong. The same file played with the same software
works fine on my 386 laptop.
The amd64
auich0 at pci0 dev 7 function 5 "AMD 8111 AC97" rev 0x03: apic 2 int 17 (irq 10), AMD8111 AC97
audio0 at auich0
auich0: measured ac97 link rate at 44421 Hz, will use 48000 Hz
plays what should be a 12 second 2-tone test in wav format in about
2.75-2.85 seconds. On my i386
auich0 at pci0 dev 31 function 5 "Intel 82801CA/CAM AC97" rev 0x01: irq 11, ICH3 AC97
audio0 at auich0
auich0: measured ac97 link rate at 48002 Hz, will use 48000 Hz
the 12 second 2-tone test takes pretty close to 12 seconds. Note that the
same driver (auich) is used on both. To further confuse the issue
mpg123 plays song36.mp3 just fine.
Any hints?
