From PackageThf@aol.com Sun Dec 1 14:53:45 1996 Date: Thu, 17 Oct 1996 00:01:32 -0400 From: PackageThf@aol.com Subject: silverleaf and snowy tears just another quick note to keep you all updated: - ep ordering info: same, except for that there will now also be copies available for sale at chunk shows in the US (the "scouring the south" tour) BUT - here's the new revelation: either in stores in australia and/or at the AU chunk shows, they will be selling the chunk/GbV CD EP (from when chunk was to have toured w/Gbv) - 3 new songs from each band! here's the difference: AU EP: 3 new chunk songs, 3 new GbV tunes US (the "laughter guns" ep): the same 3 chunk songs as on the AU ep, plus 1 other chunk song (a cover tune of a band called "ruin") + 2 chapel hill, n.c., disc jockeys dissecting "hyper enough" on the air... - drawback: no GbV so, australians: you make the choice! if you want the US version, merge still doesn't take credit cards, but they are making arrangements to. additional (outside-of-US) shipping and handling is $2 per item. and checks and money orders have to be in US funds, for now anyway... (which reminds me, the AU tour dates are still the same...) in other CHUNK news: Grit (www.grit.com) is a new search engine (very new and very small right now) which also happens to do live on-line reviews of sites. THE POINT BEING: there's going to be an interview with Matt, the lord and master of the Here With Superchunk website, and Jack McCook (the guy who does the Merge pages) next monday (the 21st). to listen, go to www.grit.com and click on the icon for "listen to audio shows", and then choose "get sound" for either RealAudio or Steamworks. They have links to both clients on the same page if you don't have them. That's it. The show will air live at 11:15AM EDT on Monday, October 21; it runs for 30 minutes, and then will be repeated every 5 hours for a week. I think it may then be archived, but I'll have to check and see. People can email in (see the grit site for info on this) questions that will be read on line. It should be fun... So: listen in and send comments/questions, especially to Jack. PLus, it'll be good press for the band if people listen. okay, that's all, but this was supposed to be quick.... if you have any chunk news, questions, or chunk issues (as it were) for the list or for me, please don't hesitate to send them to me (it would be nice to see a little more list participation...things have been a little slow as of late.) also, if you want anything clarified, let me know... see you all soon - dave CHUNKontheWEB: -here with superchunk web site - http://www-personal.umich.edu/~mransfrd/superchunk -Merge Records website - http://www.mrg2000.com/merge -CHUNK mailing list FAQ- http://www.geocities.com/SunsetStrip/2605/chunkfaq.html -The Big Dave Page (my site!) - http://members.tripod.com/~Superchunk
