Despite photographic evidence to the contrary, I have never met General Augusto Pinochet.

As the one regular salto reader who has met me can corroborate, I used to look exactly like that guy. Several times, friends have reported seeing me in places I've never been. There was even a guy at my law school who looked like me, and Three's Company-like hijinks ensued. A couple months ago, one of my best friends started talking to a guy and at first didn't believe that it wasn't me. Weird.

Someday, I expect that I will be arrested and convicted on the basis of evidence like the photograph above.

All in all, it's still better than looking like Dan Hedaya.
