Daily, there's MSNBC's fab four: Race for the White House, Hardball, Olbermann, Maddow. That's four hours right there, though I skip the commercials. Add in the Newshour on PBS on a quasi-daily basis. Then there's the Friday shows -- Washington Week, on PBS, and the podcast of KCRW's Left, Right, and Center. Sundays are Meet the Press, This Week, Fox News Sunday (which is evil, but informative), and Chris Matthews' Sunday half-hour roundtable on NBC. Face the Nation gets thrown in there if there's a good guest or I'm feeling, y'know, geriatric.
Then there are the newspapers, the blogs, Bloggingheads.tv podcasts (essential), etc., etc. -- essentially, those things that I can sneak in during work, or the commute.
Just let it be over. Please.
I'm so tired of politics. I have a bunch of novels sitting on the shelf, uncracked. I've got that thing I'm supposed to be writing -- 'member, the one I told you about? The bathroom could use a scrub, too.
All I ask, America, is that it actually ends tomorrow. No 2000 redux. KTHXBAI.
