[history] new order's eleventh release, this appears on several of the 7" releases, and promos.. however it appears only on vinyl , and not on cd yet... [review] go and listen to the 'the kiss of death' from 'substance', or the 12".....(if you've never heard the full version, get it..it's much easier to find..) because this version is an attempt at condensing the full version down to a manageable length.. once again, it's highly editted. but i think it still captures interesting aspects of the song...some female vocal parts, (who is that?)...and some other cool musical effects.. once again, i highly recommend this song...since its one of my all time favorites...i never get tired of it.. i would like to do it that way, but since i'm only on a dial-up most of the time it wouldn't be efficient... so, here's my request.. 1) does any have a public ftp they want to use to donate space [this is the best option] 2) secondly, does anyone want to HOST/SHARE files via P2P programs.....this would involve you getting the files (in this case, you would get them first from me, and then share them with others)... we could work something out for this, this isn't a bad option either.. 3) everyone could just wait until i'm done with all the files, and work something out after that (i don't think that would go over too well).. cd trades/mp3/etc... i'd rather not go that route.. finally, remember we don't want any 'new order' related sites hosting the files due to legal/moral issues either.. i don't mind sharing non-cd quality sound files (that are out of print), with interested fans.. any ideas/thoughts/comments are welcome.. i'm sure there's a better way to share these files.. i just don't have the income to pay for a dedicated site right now (and i don't want to use my friends site either, as he has to pay for the extra bandwidth generated).. if you're willing to help, i'll make sure you get the files first, and in the future, CD-quality versions w/media.. later | |||| || || | || n egat iv e 1 ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 3 Feb 2003 22:58:07 -0600 From: "-1" Subject: (Fac33) [mix technical data] -> _new_order_the_perfect_kiss(video)__v0.1__ 'i know, you know' ok neworder's, here are the details for the full version of the video for 'the perfect kiss'... this version was played during the openings of some movies, like 'stop making sense', by johnathan demme. it contains all the verses from the 12", but the instruments are quite different.. you can find it on several of the 'new order' video collections, [reference: from the new order discography] - ------------------------------------------- Substance 1989 [Sep 1989] VHS: AU 1989 (Video Select Australia VVD 627) VHS: CA 1989 (PolyGram Video 080 995-3) [NTSC] VHS: UK 1989 (Factory/Virgin FACT 225) [PAL] VHS: US 1989 (Qwest Video 38152-3) [NTSC] LD: JP 1991 (Teichiku TELP-42036) [NTSC] The Perfect Kiss New Order Story [Nov 1993] VHS: CA 1993 (PolyGram Video 440 087 135-3) [NTSC] * VHS: JP 1993 (PolyGram Video POVD-1007) [NTSC] * VHS: UK 1993 (London/PolyGram Video 087 134-3) [PAL] * 2xLD: JP 1993 (PolyGram Video POLD-1007/8) [NTSC] */*** 9:10 Perfect Kiss ? [review] this version is an attempt at condensing the full video version down to a manageable length.. it still retains most of the intensity and complex rhythms, and uses verses 1 and 3 of the 12" mix. great combination of guitar work and keyboards.. i know its been rather maligned since its a shorter edit, but i think it works well... there's a certain quality inherent in this song that carries over across all its versions.. That was the day I got my last Ceremony-digest. The USENET group alt.music.new-order just isn't the same, it it? Fortunately, I have managed to reincarnate the Ceremony list. What's more, this time it will be available in both reflector and digest formats! Since I don't have the time to maintain more than one list (and to reincarnate Atmosphere), this list will serve as a forum for the discussion of Joy Division, New Order, and all other projects that members of these bands have participated in. In case you're wondering how I got your name, Rich Kernin, maintainer of the old Ceremony, gave me the list of the 880 listmembers who were around when the last Ceremony-digest was sent out. You may also notice that this message is sent to the new reflector list, ceremony@monkey.org. Not to worry. I have put all of you on the list temporarily, for just this message, for my own convenience. You will not hear from the list again unless you subscribe. See you on the other side!
