[review] this is a very slow ballad from them.. very similar to the album version, with some instrumental guitar breaks in the middle.. if you watch the video, gillian does a good job of playing the guitar with the rest of the band.. there's a little bit of talking by quincy jones before they start singing.. this version is taken from the laserdisc, feel free to post your thoughts on it... check it out.. Montage "international2" cover is kinda cool. i'd suggest finer resolution for the component images though. Can't say i think much of State of the Nacho... get my fill of that track from Substance. Is the single version of Murder any different from Substance? that might be interesting... As for fanmixes, i think i have the Negative1 remixes of Angel Dust (intro is kinda like Deep Forest!! who knew) and Hurt, and both are quite good. So, in the end they couldn't use the recording. Where's the laughter? Mark ramsesblue@yahoo.com __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! They then decided it wasn't the right move for the band. So they didn't go thru with it. They probably figured that selling their souls to=20 the corporation wouldn't be worth it anyway, as Wilson would have trousered the money to buy a couple of tables or a new zinc roof etc etc ;-) - -----Original Message----- From: Mark Dignam [mailto:ramsesblue@yahoo.com] Sent: 21 February 2003 08:07 To: ceremony@monkey.org Subject: Re: (Fac33) [mp3] -> _new_order___blue_monday(sunkist)___ See what always troubled me about the 'Sunkist' Ad (apart from the muck in the bottle) was that the story goes that Barney couldn't stop laughing during the recording despite the fact that Rob had written "$100,000" or however much it was on a card opposite the microphone. (bootleg?) I actually bought this from this guy albeit for much cheaper ($30-35 I think?) and its a great quality DVD w/ the videos taken straight from the Japanese Laser Disc with the Get Ready ones taken from the DVD singles. Don't know what it's worth to you or anyone here, but it's a quality product and as good as we're bound to get for awhile. I also gotthe Brixton Academy DVD from him and it's nice too... Robin PS-- this is not a paid advertisement, just a clarification that this guy is for real. - ----- Original Message ----- From: "michael roehr" To: Sent: Thursday, February 20, 2003 5:16 PM Subject: (Fac33) what the fark is this? Playing a set of contemporary and vintage electro music, they also gave the first spins of three new records they have recently made: 'Walking on thin ice' (PSB Electro mix) by Yoko Ono, 'Love to love you, baby' (Kiki Kokova) and 'Hooked on radiation' (PSB Orange Alert mix) by Atomizer. Release dates for 'Walking on thin ice' will be announced soon. 'Love to love you, baby' is Neil and Chris's latest collaboration with the artist Sam Taylor-Wood. It will be given a limited edition release on 12-inch vinyl soon. 'Hooked on radiation' is PSB's new production/remix of the UK electro-clash band Atomizer who are behind the London club night Nag Nag Nag. Neil and Chris began their set with the song 'We're the Pet Shop Boys' by the American electronic singer/songwriter, My Robot Friend. (More details about him on myrobotfriend.com) Pet Shop Boys were followed last night by New Order's Bernard Sumner and Pete Hook. No further DJ dates are planned by Neil and Chris but a good time was had by all. (Chris's new long, blond hair surprising many.)" Superb night, lots of bad mixing (!), Barney in glasses and wolf whistling, dissing Arsenal/southerners/etc. Wonderful! (I'm sure there's someone who'll be able to post a better review than the above two lines)! l8rs, Nick ;-) ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 23 Feb 2003 20:18:21 +0000 (GMT) From: =?iso-8859-1?q?Lisa?= Subject: Re: (Fac33) [mp3] -> _new_order___blue_monday(sunkist)___ but did they get paid for it? they made the recording.. i had no idea that they did not use the commercial, i was always wondering why i never saw it....
