Sputnik was the world's first artificial satellite launched by the Soviet Union in 1957. Skullcrusher is a gothic rock [don't know how to explain the sound ] instrumental that starts with basslines from hooky and then stephen's drums and then bernard's guitar. It is quite catchy, and that's not necessarily a bad thing. I prefer it to Turn The Heater On, for one. And excluding the RIAD remixes, I usually skip that "yellow fever, yellow hay" song on Republic, In A Lonely Place, or either of the Christmas Flexi songs. There are quite a few more that I prefer Vietnam to, but those are the most obvious. Granted, I think Vietnam will ultimately end up being just a blip in New Order's discography, like Brutal. I simply see it as a nice distraction, something not lasting, but fun to listen to because it is quite novel. (Like how the Christmas Flexi songs or Turn The Heater On were.)
