Anyone get a chance to listen to the Radio 1 Documentary yet? I think it was very well done, perhaps the most thorough New Order interview I've heard. Interesting to hear the comments on how World in Motion was written/created. I actually prefer the D6 (analog) recording over Alex's DAT recording, but it's more because of the better mic (AT9400) used with the D6. It's generally a case of the microphone making the difference, over the professional recording equipment. The source is the D6 recording (everything except IALP), and Alex's IALP. Giving it a quick listen, the D6 is *definitely* better than the DAT for this concert, possibly also due to recording locations. And let's not forget that this is the last time New Order performed Run!!!!!!! I can do 5 or so blank fulfillments - you must send the blank Fuji (Japanese-made) cdr and return postage, with mailing address label. I can probably offer turnaround within 7 days, since it's just for this one gig (cdr). Email me directly on this. If you can offer FTP access for the rest of the list, I'll consider your request first - I'm all for spreading the wealth. Also what is the reason that PFD omits 3 semi-hits (The Perfect Kiss, Age of Consent, Temptation) on the official release? Was it an issue of the cameras not working well for those songs, or did the band intentionally want those songs omitted? I remember when I first saw PFD in 1990, I almost felt cheated that the show was so short - I never realized that 3 songs would be skipped. And to omit The Perfect Kiss... jeez. xox Mike ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 05 Aug 2003 08:14:39 -0400 From: Nicolas LeBlanc Subject: (Fac33) Tribute Album Hi, Since he is a user of this list, you can go and vote for the "contenter" for Alejo for the NewOrderOnline.com tribute album (Community), almanso if you prefer: http://www.neworderonline.com/thread.asp?thread_id=10554&forum_id=10 ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 05 Aug 2003 08:23:25 -0400 From: Nicolas LeBlanc Subject: RE: (Fac33) Tribute Album Of course I meant "contender".. You got the red one, you got the blue one, but the best one is the green one J , "Raise the Pressure". I remember have to shared my impressions about the album in this list in 1996, everyone was happy to get that new Electronic produckt which took almost two years in the studios. At that time Forbidden City shocked me, and it is a classic so far!. Now I like the tracks "Visit me" and "How long", it's their 'clean' (orchestral?, Bartos influence I guess) sound what i like, near to the perfection, like a future classic music for our children J ..so you, european boys, or maybe northamerican ones, could tell me about other artist with the same sounds I'd like try to listen? This is due to sample clearance issues and Graham finding more unreleased Acid tunes from the Newbuild era. Two of them that won't make it onto Prebuild are covers of New Order's Blue Monday and Confusion, which Rephlex plans on releasing as a 12"!"
