My mistake on the b-side part...
Thieves Like Us is pretty terrible, IMHO. But then again, that's just it.
My opinion. Yours is obviously different.

Thank you very much for tagging NewOrderOnline a "Mega-FanSite". On the
other hand, and make sure you read this, you can burn in hell for your other
stupid comments -- not only are they uncalled for, but they are based on
pure ignorance (the one that characterize the majority of what you've been
writing here from the very start). What we've put online came from
BROADCASTS, they are not tracks coming out directly of the next record.
Quite a difference. These broadcasts are promotion for the band, and so it
isn't different for us.
Now you can imagine any kinds of under-the-table deals you like -- you seem
to have a very good imagination -- maybe you've read too much Kafka, that is
if you ever read a book in your life. But what I really think that you are
looking for is just to act like the shitface you are. Now I'll give you one
chance to retract what you said OR to come up with the reason you called us
brown noses. I'd REALLY like to know what this comment was based on.
You should feel pretty lucky that we've put this video online -- the real
New Order fans thanked us for it. I'd really wish I could see you coming
with only ONE reason why we should "wait for it to be on the official site".
Keep being the fucking loudmouth you are Colton -- as far as I'm concerned,
until you've done 50% of what Nicolas and I did for the New Order community
so far, you should sit, shut up and learn. We're not doing this site for
people like you -- if a quarter of New Order fans would be like you, we'd be
closing the site already because we don't have too much time on our hands to
spend on contenting anonymous idiots around the world.

I dont think u can comment on the worst new order song when they are all brilliant in they're own ways: world in motion did its job, people sang it at the football pitch! may not be yer taste of new order but it wasnt ment to be a simple, same old new order song, it was ment to drive on the England team to victory (but they lost)
I rate New Order as one of the best bands ever for they're orginallity! not 1 lame song!

Maybe you need to be English, and/or have been rooting for the England team
at the time? I accept the song is a little cheesy, but it reminds me so
much of summer 1990, finishing my final year of comprehensive secondary
school (Grange Hill equivalent), and seeing a sunburned Gazza talking on Top
of the Pops from Italy.
As for the video, I took it as tongue in cheek. Just seeing Bernard and
Gillian looking shy while Keith enjoys himself says it all for me.
I still get a shiver of excitement when I hear the "Singing for England"
line. Actually, it was a great atmosphere at Reading 98 hearing the whole
crowd sing the song too.
There's probably no New Order track where I would hit the skip button. As
for the second Monaco album, I just tried to listen to it yesterday, and
skipped almost all of them. (Sorry Ally)
Neil.

Subject: (Fac33) Latest Issue of Sleazenation (July 2001) has exclusive interveiw with New Order
Has a black cover with 'New Order - The Exclusive Interview' on the front.
Also has a 2-page article on 'Joy Division' (which is also on-line at
http://www.sleazenation.com/sleaze.html).
Unfortunately, the New Order interview isn't available on-line, and there
isn't a place on the website where you can order a single issue, only a
subscription.
- - A couple of quotes from the interview (14-pages long with some recent
black & white photos):
- - Factory Records founder Tony Wilson offers this verdict (on 'Get Ready'):
"It's very, very, very good, which is rare for me... The album is 'hard',
which is fuckin' great.
- - "It's cranked up," states Bernard, cockily. "We've gone back to writing
with guitars."
- - Smashing Pumpkin, mainman Billy Corgan is the group's new honorary member
and will be touring with them this summer. A longtime friend of theirs, they
wrote a song that the believed would suit his voice and invited him over.
"I'm a big Pumpkins fan," admits Bernard.
- - Peter Hook recalls the words of Rob Gretton who before his death,
exasperated, said: 'Fuckin' hell. If you c--ts had put as much energy into
New Order as you did with your solo projects I'd be living on the fuckin'
moon now.'
- - "We had a lot of alcohol," drolls Bernard, needlessly. "We got
investigated by the tax man - virtually special branch, tax office special
investigations asking me how much I earned and spent saying, 'Do you
recognise this?' He pulled out one of our riders and said: 'You drink too
much. You're trying to claim tax off your alcohol bill.'"
- - Designer Peter Saville is described, affectionately, by Peter Hook as "an
artist and a piss artist who never turns up on time and makes you months
late... We'd have the record ready to go and it would be delayed cos of the
sleeve. And where was he? He was fuckin' walking around Paris with some
model looking at perfume bottle shapes, the twat."
- - "I fell over at Glastonbury once on a mixture of speed and Mogadons, when
my system was waiting to decide which one it should take notice of... Might
not have been the drugs though, might have been the smell of the hot dogs."
(Bernard)
- - "Remember, the moment of revolution was when New Order did Fine Time on
Top Of The Pops in 1988 and you had Barney doing Bez for three minutes. No
one in Britain got it except 200 people in Manchester who pissed themselves
laughing and fell off their seats." (Tony Wilson)
- - "I don't want to commit to a big tour of huge sheds. I'd like to play
Strangeways," says Sumner, deadpan, before hitting us with the reality.
"We're doing Japan's Fuji Festival in July, then a few on the west coast of
America. Then we're going to do a small tour of Britain in September and a
small tour of Europe in October."
There's loads more (14 pages!), but I can't type it all in!!!
l8rs,
Nick ;-)

have been ecven invited at the show... The fact he didn't have some common
sense in businness doesn't mean he's not a great person... they're still
friends, Hooky worked on Durutti Column's album on Factory Too and I had the

*Alright, back to being myself... what alarms me is that these tickets are
"seated", I mean, the venue is not seated is it??? We won't have to see the
concert seated, right? That'd be too bad! It was hard to be kept seated at
Radiohead's concert, I can't even imagine how it would be with New Order! or
worse, it won't be that the audience with general admission tickets will
have to see the gig behind seated twats? Won't we even fight for the front
of the stage? ;-)

what do you all think?
As some of you have seen on my website
http://crystal.robertao.com
I have received an email from Warner Music UK and
another one from APDIF do Brasil (authorized
representative of Warner Brasil)asking me to stop to
stream the songs (Crystal, 60 Miles An Hour and Turn
My Way). Well, it is clear that the streaming audio,
even if in a poor audio quality (i used 16 kbps wma),
is considered illegal.
But what do you all think?
Why do record companies allow the radio stations to
air the songs? OK, they have copyright, but in fact
they allow it because it's promoting the band! And
that was what I was trying to do - let people that
don't even remember who New Order are (or think NO has
broken up) to know that they are still a great band,
making great songs... And most people wasn't
downloading the tracks (it was not given the direct
url - although some people passed through). They were
just listening - and if they liked, they would buy the
album when released. Does anyone think some 16kbps wma
files can decrease the sales of an album? I don't.
And I think I am not the only one on target. Nicholas
and Seb: you know your site is probably the best one
nowadays, but you have a lot of illegal stuff there,
too (some mp3 and a lot of videos). I hope you all
will be luckier than me...

Men in suits, Robertao, men in suits....
I sympathise with your predicament. Record companies would be better off
hunting-down those profligate music pirates, the sort of people - we are led
to believe - who use their profits to fund "terrorism". I'm not sure if this
is really the case but it's true that the music industry has never
recognised the distinction between bootlegging and piracy. Anyone hoping to
mount an armed insurrection won't get very far by selling Blur live cds. At
the end of the day, though, it's their copyright and they can do what they
want with it. As an aside, i'm a music journalist and on a couple of
occasions i've had to resort to downloading an album from Napster because
the record company has, despite my requests and their assurances, failed to
get the review copy to me before deadline (or at all, actually). How
ironic....
And i'm still waiting for my review copy of Get Ready if anyone from Warners
is reading this......*
* Thank god Warners aren't handling the press for the album in the UK......
i always found them fairly hopeless at best.

Sorry bud, but what you are doing is not the same as a radio station, and
I am in complete support of the rights of the artist when it comes to
protecting their work that is currently available or soon to be. I am also
in support of trading of live or unpublished works (or out of print for
years) because this does not compete directly with sales.

having it... or can you have it scanned? Thanks.

*Yeah, if you talk about volume and quantity (because of naughty Hague), but
I was referring to the melody... and what about those four notes introducing
the chorus (of Chemical)? I totally adore them!

ok, i'm not a doing the same as a radio station. In fact i'm competing with
the album sales: i'll release a cd with 16kbps quality files and so Warner
will not sell any cd! I'm gonna be rich with this! =)
hehe

I'm late on this due to a busted mail server but KNICKERS basically!
Cos Corgan is touring with them. If Liam and / or Noel went on tour with
the Beatles then I can pretty much guarantee that they would play sumfink
like Wonderwall.
I hate the Pumpkins but FFS - Corgan is going with them, he wrote Pumpkins
songs, there is no reason why they shouldn't play one. Like covering
Sister Ray live or sumfink like that.
Sheesh.

Here we go. Round 3 of The Stupid Argument World Championship.
But anyway. Just because it came from a broadcast doesn't mean it's legal.
If I went out and recorded 7 hours of MTV and put it on a web site then I
would probably be shot at by Zane Lowe and his stupid hair (which is an
entity in itself). It's still illegal, and though very nice to see, I
think you've gone into the deep end a bit Seb.
Now I have absolutely nothing against you and / or Nicolas but you do seem
to fly off the handle and over react a hell of a lot (*memories of "site
merger"*) and I don't think Eddie's comments quite needed your big outburst.
Take it easy - go listen to Hobart Paving ;-)
