we have a dumpster, some scaffolding, and oh, remember this?

well, it's gone.

hm, it's the 11th already? well, the above was what we did over the weekend. the rest of the shingles should be down this week/weekend, and then the Real Fun Begins.

for those fans of ours who are waiting for the kitchen countertop, never fear - it was measured for and is at the fabricator's, so we should see it sometime next week.

weekend of april 16

hum di dum. front of house. the front of the house sure is requiring a lot of work. the north side of the house, which will hopefully require less work overall.

zac just described the old look of our house as an old guy with his pants pulled up too high. i need to include a side-by-side comparison of before and after (even though after isn't done yet) just for the 'holy crap' factor:

or, take a look at the house in all its former, pre-us-as-owners glory

the scaffolding's down off the front of the house! yay for that. and zac's done most of the work on the north side getting shingles off and doing board repair. i've been busy with other work.

chester likes going under the new cabinets.

oh yeah, we have a countertop! the rain has prevented any appreciable work from taking place on the siding, but we'll get that knocked out this weekend. right?? RIGHT. on to the kitchen. we still need door and window trim, and we have to put the sink back (heh) today.

from dining room to kitchen day 0!
towards the fridge, from the basement door day 0!
towards the stove
towards the basement
towards the dining room

ahhhhh, so nice to hire people to do shit instead of doing it all ourselves.

apr 30

trim goes up in the kitchen:
to the basement
looking into the kitchen
looking out to the dining room
at the fridge
looking down the countertop
again, to the basement

on to may!
