heeeey, it's july. i say that 1) because it is and 2) to give you a bit of perspective on the progress of our work on the house. namely, that the last update was made in may; we haven't been exactly charging ahead on projects this month. except this one, yesterday.

if you look closely at the may link, you'll notice the plastic and tape covering the hole around the door. there is a slightly funny story about this, that involves two months of plastic and tape in our dining room, some talk about how to get drywall to mesh seamlessly with the plaster and lathe, some cutting of funny-edged drywall and furring strips, and basically just dark, naughty, lazy homeowner contemplations about doing things the Wrong Way. anyway, the nagging guilt finally got its way, and we ripped down every speck of plaster and lathe on the wall in order to properly put up drywall. so, yay! in the picture, the tape is to temporarily seal the corners until we start mudding. this will likely happen in september.
